Beijing Guitar DuoAbout
The new CD, as the liner notes say, "is an exploration of exquisite French repertoire arranged for guitar duo." From Couperin's Le Tic-toc-choc; to Fauré's Dolly Suite; César Franck's Prelude, Fugue, and Variation; Petit's Toccata, which is the only work originally written for two guitars on the recording; and Debussy's Golliwogg's Cakewalk, Petite Suite, and of course, Clair de lune.
Classical Guitar magazine said about the duo's performance: "It was clear from the evening that both women are incredibly gifted and together, with their ability to fuse technical skill effortlessly with their depth of musicality. They have the star potential to serve as inspiration for new generations of guitarists to come."
The impressive individual talents of Ms Su and Ms Wang come together to create what is sure to be one of the most exciting guitar duos on the scene today. Winners of many international guitar competitions, each season they are invited to perform in music centres across the continents of America, Asia, and Europe.
Beijing Guitar Duo's early CD "Maracaipe" received a Latin Grammy nomination for the title piece on the recording.
